Police seek suspected North St. Paul shooter

Authorities are still seeking a female suspect after a shooting that left another woman injured and led authorities to evacuate an apartment complex in North St. Paul.

The incident began about 4:40 a.m. Sunday, when police were called to an apartment for a possible domestic disturbance.

They arrived to find a woman shot in the leg. She was taken to a hospital and her injuries are not critical.

Capt. Dustin Nikituk tells WCCO-AM that authorities were still searching for a female suspect. They focused on one building, but nearby buildings were evacuated as units were searched.

The Salvation Army is helping those who were evacuated.

Nikituk says it's concerning anytime shots are fired and someone has a gun. But he says it appears to be an isolated incident.
