Man accused of threatening Ramsey County judge arrested

A man accused of threatening to kill a Ramsey County judge has been arrested in the judge's courtroom.

Prosecutors say Peter Okezie Kalu had a typewritten note with him that said he planned to kill the judge who would serve as an example to other judges who think they can hurt ordinary people for no reason.

District Judge George Stephenson had earlier signed an arrest warrant for Kalu on a probation violation. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports a criminal complaint says Kalu told investigators he thought Stephenson wanted to hurt him by signing the warrant and he showed up in the courtroom Monday to deliver his note to him.
