Today's music is "Step by Step" the title track from a new record by Peter Tork and his band Shoe Suede Blues.  

Today is Tork's 72nd birthday.  He is best known as a member of the Monkees and in these parts for attending Carleton College.  


In 1979, a group of students felt his legacy at that institution was not being properly honored so they stole a portrait of Carleton's first president.  It was only returned after the college agreed to officially rename a section of Carleton's student union "The Peter Tork Pinball Area."  Alas, that pinball area has since been dismantled.
