Travel treacherous in much of North Dakota

Travel is difficult in much of North Dakota because of blowing snow.

The state Transportation Department says Interstate 94 is closed between Jamestown and Valley City because of multiple accidents blocking traffic.

A travel alert is in effect for the central part of the state. That means motorists can still travel but they are advised to slow down and use caution because conditions could rapidly change.

The National Weather Service has posted a winter weather advisory for the north central and eastern parts of the state, and a wind advisory for south central North Dakota.
