Twins' Miguel Sano set for season-ending surgery

Star Tribune digital sports editor Howard Sinker offers perspective on Twins third base prospect Miguel Sano, who will miss the regular season because he needs surgery on his throwing arm.

"Tommy John" surgery is more common among pitchers, but can sideline anyone who has to throw hard. Sinker says it won't be a big loss to the team since Sano was unlikely to see much major league playing time in 2014 anyway.
