Police investigating cause of death of man found frozen in Faribault

Police in Faribault are investigating the death of 23-year-old Cody Alan Simon, who was found frozen in an industrial park near town.

Police chief Andy Bohlen said Simon's body was found yesterday afternoon in a field near 30th Street and Industrial Drive.

"There was a set of footprints that led from one area out to where he was found. We're not sure what his activity was and why he was out in this industrial park," said Bohlen. "[The investigators] indicated there was no obvious signs of trauma. But we want to make sure that foul play isn't a factor."

Simon's family has been notified and the cause of his death remains under investigation.

The Minnesota Department of health says 22 people have died of cold-related causes since December last year.
