Mpls. police looking for fatal shooting suspects

Minneapolis police are looking for suspects in two fatal shootings Saturday.

Police Department spokesman John Elder said officers responded to a report of shots fired on the 2700 block of Longfellow Avenue on the city's south side just after 10 p.m.

"Upon arrival, they located an adult male laying in the street next to the snowbank, who appeared to have gunshot wounds and was deceased," Elder said.

About 90 minutes later police found a man shot and wounded in the entryway of a home on the 1800 block of Hillside Avenue in north Minneapolis, he said. The victim died Sunday morning at North Memorial Medical Center.

Investigators are following up on leads in both cases, but any tips from the public are welcome.

The victims' identities will be made public after confirmation by the medical examiner.
