Teen charged in suspected synthetic drug death
A teenage boy is the latest to face charges in a death that investigators have linked to synthetic drugs.
The 17-year-old is charged in juvenile court in Blue Earth County. He's accused of providing a white powder to Chloe Moses. The 17-year-old girl died at Minneapolis Children's Hospital March 10.
Four others have been charged as a result of an investigation into a synthetic form of LSD or cocaine, called "2-C." Mankato police suspect the drug sold in blue packages with gold or silver crowns is responsible for Moses' death and the March 5 death of 22-year-old Louis Folson. Investigators say they found the drugs at the homes of both victims.
KTOE reports the 17-year-old told investigators he got the drug from another juvenile. A search warrant of that juvenile's home yielded pills in blue baggies.
