Several food items produced by a Minnesota company are being recalled after tests found potentially dangerous bacteria in some products.
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture says the voluntary recall by Parkers Farm of Coon Rapids includes peanut butter, cheese, salsa and spreads.
The department says no illnesses have been reported, but the listeria contamination found can cause a potentially serious disease characterized by fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea.
The recalled products are sold in many stores under a variety of names including Parkers Farm, Happy Farms, Central Markets, Hy-Top, Amish Classic, Say Cheez, Win Schuler and Bucky Badger.
Consumers are encouraged to discard the products or return the items to the store where they were purchased.
