If you're a longtime listener to A Prairie Home Companion, or to The Morning Show with Dale Connelly and Jim Ed Poole, you might remember Claudia Schmidt. She's been a frequent jazz-blues-folks performer on those shows. For her latest album, "New Whirled Order," Schmidt also tapped Prairie Home veterans Dean Magraw and Peter Ostroushko.

Schmidt ties jazz, Celtic, folk, Americana and storytelling together with her commanding voice. On The Daily Circuit, she performed live with Magraw in the MPR studios:

Schmidt's record release show is Wednesday night with a full band at the Dakota Jazz Club.
