Man accused of stalking terminally ill girl, 13

Waukesha County authorities have arrested a 30-year-old man accused of stalking a terminally ill 13-year-old girl.

Prosecutors say Shannon C. Bailey found the girl on Caring Bridge, a website families use to update friends on the medical conditions of loved ones.

The criminal complaint quotes him as telling investigators he sold all his possessions in West Virginia so he could move to Wisconsin to be near her. The complaint says he sent Facebook messages to the girl's mother saying he needed to see the girl and be with her.

Bailey told police he has no sexual desire for the girl, but he just wants to befriend her and help her as she awaits a liver transplant.

Online court records say the public defender's office will contact him about representation.
