A Minneapolis City Council member is considering introducing a ban on plastic-foam packaging. And, while the city has a robust recycling program, plastic foam is currently not among the items accepted for the program.
Among cities that have already acted to ban the material, often referred to incorrectly by the brand name Styrofoam, are New York, San Francisco and Seattle.
