How would you change your workplace?
The world of work produced two jealousy-provoking stories in recent weeks.
One of them took note of an offer by Amazon to pay some of its workers $5,000 to quit.
The other turned out to be overblown. It described supposed legislation in France to outlaw the reading of work emails on smart phones in the evening. Actually, the law covers relatively few contract workers, and mandates that they have at least 11 hours off between shifts.
Even so, they work in a country where the workweek is limited by law to 35 hours. If you could write the laws and regulate the human-resources professionals, what would you change about your workplace?
