Current and former presidents and civil rights legends gathered at the LBJ Presidential Library for a Civil Rights Summit April 8-10, 2014. This hour, hear Congressman John Lewis introduce the keynote address by President Barack Obama, and the keynote address by President George W. Bush. The event was held to mark the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson on July 2, 1964. President Obama said the lesson of the civil rights movement is that with enough effort, empathy, perseverance and courage, people who love their country can change it.
