1 dead, 3 injured in Mankato shooting

Police are investigating a shooting early Easter morning in Mankato that left one person dead and three others injured.

The shooting occurred shortly before 2 a.m. outside the Kato Entertainment Center as an event let out, according to Patrol Commander Jeremy Clifton.

The Blue Earth County medical examiner will release the identity of the person who was killed. The three people who were transported to the hospital had non-life threatening injuries, Clifton said.

Police recovered one handgun at the scene, but they don't yet know what caused the dispute. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is helping Mankato police investigate the incident.

Police have arrested three people but no one has been charged yet. Police say there's no danger to the public.
