Today's music is from 50 years ago this week when "Can't Buy Me Love" by the Beatles was the number one song on the U.S. pop charts. It marked the first and only time that an artist would have three consecutive songs reach the top of the charts. In addition, other labels that had older Beatles songs in their back catalog re-released them to take advantage of the sudden Beatlemania in the U.S. As a result, the Beatles held the top five positions and had a total of 14 songs in the Hot 100 at the same time. No artist has ever come close to doing that again.
