Bobby Vee's music post-Alzheimer's diagnosis

Today's Morning Edition music is from a new song from Bobby Vee who was born 71 years ago today in Fargo, North Dakota. When Vee was just 15 years old, he assembled a band to play a gig in Morehead in place of Buddy Holly who had been killed in a plane crash earlier that day. He gave Bob Dylan his first professional job as a musician and had a string of top ten hits in the early 60s. In 2011, Vee was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. This song is from an album released earlier this year which he recorded with the help of his family.
