Today's Morning Edition music is from 25 years ago this week when Madonna's song "Like a Prayer" was number one on the U.S. pop charts.  It was Madonna's 7th chart topping song.  The video, which combined religious and sexual imagery, was condemned by a number of religious groups including the Vatican. Because of the controversy, Pepsi stopped airing a commercial featuring the song and ended its association with Madonna.​ But the video proved to be very popular.  In 2005, MTV viewers voted it the "Most Groundbreaking Music Video of All Time."
