Minnesota memorials set for ex-Rep. Oberstar

The University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs will host a public memorial June 26 for former Rep. Jim Oberstar.

Obserstar, who died five weeks ago at age 79, was the state's longest serving congressman, representing northeastern Minnesota from 1975 to 2011. He was a longtime supporter of the school and its work on transportation policy, said Humphrey School senior fellow Lee Munnich.

The memorial will be Cowles Auditorium. Two other services are scheduled the following day in Duluth and Chisholm, Minnesota. Oberstar's funeral was last month in Maryland.
