5 North Dakota park districts get federal grants

Park districts in five North Dakota communities are getting grants to help fund outdoor recreation projects.

The Land and Water Conservation Fund matching grants are for projects such as ball fields, swimming pools, campgrounds and playgrounds. The program is funded by the federal Interior Department and administered by the state Parks and Recreation Department.

The department says grants have been awarded to park districts in Bismarck, Devils Lake, New Rockford, Linton and Carrington.
