Teacher on leave after compromising photos of kids found

The Anoka County Sheriff is investigating a teacher in the St. Francis and Spring Lake Park schools after school officials found photographs of students in compromising positions on the teacher's computer.

Detectives believe some of the thousands of photos "are criminal in nature," according to a press release from the sheriff's office. They began a criminal investigation on May 15, after the teacher was seen with a young student on his lap.

Authorities say the technology coordinator for St. Francis discovered the photographs.

The teacher, who worked with hearing impaired students, worked on contract and was not an employee of the school district. He was placed on leave and has not been charged.
