As we continue our Western Week on The Daily Circuit, L.A. Times Film Critic Ken Turan joins us to talk about his favorites.

In his new book, "Not to Be Missed," he talks about sitting side by side with his dad watching "Wagon Train" and "Maverick" and "Rawhide."

Turan also admires "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" starring James Stewart, John Wayne and Lee Marvin.

"'Liberty Valance' is a film that tells you everything you think you know is wrong both in terms of the immediate plot laid out before you and the bigger picture clash of forces that created the modern West," he writes.
