Prince's 'Purple Rain' a classic at 30 years old

Thirty years ago today, Prince and the Revolution released the album "Purple Rain" which included this song "When Doves Cry." The music launched Prince from his roots in Minneapolis to worldwide fame. Morning Edition is marking the 30th anniversary over the next couple of days by playing a song from the album at about this time. We're starting with "When Doves Cry" because it was the first single released from the album, and became Prince's first number one hit.
