The future of big banks as people consider other options

In a Harris poll from earlier this year, 78 percent of respondents blame big banks for the financial crisis. At the same time, most Americans continue banking with megabanks under the assumption that it's the only way to bank with the latest mobile banking technology. Perhaps more importantly, people continue banking with big banks out of convenience.

Recently, big banks have been making an effort to rebuild their public image with campaigns like low-cost services for low-income Americans who struggle to afford banking. In tandem with the convenience of megabanks, will this be enough to compete with loyalty and satisfaction bankers feel with their small banks and credit unions?
