Public to weigh in on Twin Cities-Rochester Zip Rail line

Residents in southeastern Minnesota will have three opportunities this week to discuss a proposed high-speed rail line between the Twin Cities and Rochester.

That line, known as Zip Rail, would take passengers about 100 miles between Rochester and the Twin Cities in 45 to 50 minutes. Trains would travel at more than 150 mph.

Federal, state, and county officials are currently evaluating possible routes for the proposed express train.
