Obama administration considering executive ways to limit tax inversions

The Obama administration is looking for steps it can take without Congress to stop American companies from reincorporating overseas to avoid U.S. taxes.

Obama recently denounced the inversions as unpatriotic, but the administration is now looking for options outside of Congress because the parties are too far apart on the issue, the Associated Press reported.

Minnesota-based Medtronic recently announced plans to merge with the Irish company Covidien to become an Irish company on paper.
