Update: The funeral of Officer Scott Patrick
Funeral services will be held in West St. Paul this morning for the Mendota Heights police officer killed in the line of duty last week.
Rites for Scott Patrick start at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. Hundreds of police and peace officers, friends, relatives and supporters are expected to pay their respects to the 47-year-old patrol officer shot to death during a traffic stop last Wednesday.

The ceremonies are scheduled to include a full formal funeral and procession, including a police honor guard, a 21-gun salute and a flyover by State Patrol helicopters.

Law enforcement officials are asking the public to line the nearly eight-mile-long funeral procession route.
The service is expected to last about an hour, followed by burial at the Acacia Park cemetery in Mendota Heights.
