State Patrol seeks help finding driver that killed bicyclist in hit-and-run

Authorities are searching for a driver who hit two bicyclists on Saturday evening in Oak Park Heights, killing a 35-year-old woman and critically injuring her husband. The driver did not stop at the scene of the accident.

The accident occurred on 60th Street North, which is a frontage road for Highway 36, at about 11:50 p.m. on August 2. Mai D. Yang died Monday. Her husband, E. Xiong, 37, was critically injured and is currently in fair condition at Regions Hospital.

Minnesota Highway Patrol spokesperson Lt. Eric Roeske said anyone with information about the identity of the driver or the vehicle involved is asked to contact authorities.

"We're hoping that someone saw something and hearing this information jogs their memory, or makes them realize what they may have witnessed, and they call in with some information about it," Roeske said. "If they're the involved party, we certainly urge them to come forward with their side of the story."

Anyone with information about the incident can call Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Eric Zastrow at 651-539-1151 or the Oak Park Heights Police Department.
