Police are interviewing a "person of interest" in connection with a Monday morning shooting at a gas station in Arden Hills, the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office said late this afternoon.

Officials are also in the process of executing a search warrant on the victim's home.

Squads received a 911 call at 8:40 a.m. of a man shot and down in the parking lot at a Holiday station.

When they arrived, they found one man down. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he was declared dead, said Ramsey County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Sgt. John Eastham.

Investigators believe the shooter and the victim arrived in the same vehicle together at the gas station. The victim's name is being withheld as officials work to notify next of kin.

Police think the victim was shot outside the car and the suspect, considered armed and dangerous, got back in the car and drove away.
