St. Cloud man drowns in Sauk River

Authorities say a 56-year-old man has drowned in the Sauk River in central Minnesota.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says police received a call Sunday that a man was found in the river in St. Cloud. It says the man had been pulled onto the shore but was unresponsive and blue.

Authorities say he was pronounced dead at the scene. They say foul play isn't suspected.

They say the man had been with friends in a nearby apartment complex before walking into the river and swimming in shallow water. His friends went looking for him after not seeing him for an unspecified amount of time.
