One of Minnesota's national parks has a new leader. John Anfinson is in his first week as superintendent of the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, which runs through the heart of the Twin Cities. The 72-mile-long park follows the river, with areas for fishing, boating, and biking.

Anfinson is a historian who has been writing and speaking about the upper Mississippi for more than 25 years. He knows the park well, having served most recently as its chief of resource management.

He joins The Daily Circuit to talk about the past and future of the Mississippi River.
