Reward jumps for information in Boston Scientific executive's murder

Ramsey County authorities say the reward for information in connection with the killing of a Boston Scientific executive is now up to $40,000.

That's an additional $15,000 for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of Lyle "Ty" Hoffman.

Police have been searching for Hoffman since early August. He's charged with the shooting death of Kelly Phillips in the parking lot of an Arden Hills gas station, and is also a suspect in a recent bank robbery.

Hoffman likes to hang out at casinos, movie theaters and coffee shops, said Ramsey County Sheriff's Office Inspector Rob Allen.

"There is some suggestion that he may have headed for warmer climes and that people who are traveling or have friends in other states share the wanted poster on social networks," he said.

Authorities say people who think they see Hoffman should contact local police.
