Today's Morning Edition music is from 40 years ago today when Bob Dylan began recording what would become one of his most popular albums.

The first song Dylan put down on tape begins with a reference to an intersection that does not exist — at least in the Twin Cities. "Meet Me in the Morning" was recorded in New York City in 1974 and it appears on Dylan's 1975 album "Blood on the Tracks." Dylan recorded the entire album in New York, but later decided to re-record half the songs with a new band in Minneapolis.
