No evidence of false VA data in vet's death

A Veterans Administration investigation shows no evidence that a Minnesota veteran's medical appointment records were doctored after he died.

Reports by KARE-TV last month showed a neurology exam for retired Marine Jordan Buisman, was rescheduled four days after his death in 2012.

Buisman's family thought the records had been tampered with, but investigators said faulty VA scheduling systems caused the error.

Senator Amy Klobuchar said the recent investigation points to another problem within the VA.

"There still remains this major issue of how long it took to get the care. This was a young man who was a veteran. He served out country. He deserved better than having a 70 day wait for an appointment," she said.

Klobuchar and Minnesota's other members of Congress plan to meet with VA Secretary Robert McDonald to discuss the case.

Editor's note: an earlier version of this story stated Klobuchar planned to meet with Acting VA Inspector General Richard Griffin.
