The Duluth mayor says he won't seek a third term.

WDIO-TV reports Mayor Don Ness confirmed the decision in a post on Facebook Sunday morning. The Duluth News Tribune also reported the decision Sunday.

The city said Mayor Ness would take questions from other media outlets on Monday afternoon.

Ness was first elected in 2007 and faced no opposition for re-election in 2011. City councilor Howie Hanson has already announced his intention to run for mayor in November 2015.

In recent weeks, Ness has been highlighting city growth, his administration's progress in reducing health care costs and efforts to improve housing.
