Missing plane found in Wisconsin; pilot dead

Authorities say a small plane that went missing on Friday has been found in a Pierce County farm field.

The pilot, 73-year-old Richard Schweitzer of Watersmeet, Michigan, was found dead at the scene. He was the only person on board the single engine Cessna.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office says the plane was found Saturday evening after it was spotted by the Civil Air Patrol.

The sheriff's office says the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation and Safety Board are now investigating.
