Using lessons from deployment as a student

Vanessa Prebish enlisted in the Army National Guard because she wanted to be a part of something larger than herself. She says her experience while deployed helped her become a better student and will be beneficial to her future in medicine.

Prebish was deployed for ten months to Iraq as a medic and returned in July of 2010. She is currently a studying global health at St. John's University.
