School bus joy ride ends in early morning crash

Two boys were taken to juvenile detention after they crashed a bus they'd apparently stolen from a school in northwest Minnesota on Monday evening.

The school bus was being driven by a 15-year-old when it sideswiped a 2014 GMC Sierra on Highway 32 near Ulen, Minnesota, at about 6:40 a.m. Minnesota State Patrol spokesperson Jesse Grabow said the truck it hit was knocked over and the bus came to rest on its side up against a set of railroad tracks.

The two boys and the 33-year-old driver of the truck were all checked at a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The school bus which belongs to Circle of Life Academy in White Earth has since been reported stolen, according to a Minnesota State Patrol incident report.

The boys were both taken to the Clay County Juvenile Detention Center in Moorhead. Officers are investigating.
