How immigrants contribute to Minnesota's economy

Immigrants in Minnesota contributed more than $1 billion to Social Security and Medicare in 2013 and more than $22.4 billion to Minnesota's GDP in 2012, according to a new Council of the Americas study.

What does the future of that contribution look like with the projected demographic changes in Minnesota? Immigrants accounted for nearly 30 percent of Minnesota's population growth since 2000. If that continues what does it mean for the state's economy?
