The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian on a busy highway in Brooklyn Center Tuesday night.

Meshu Lamu, 61, of Brooklyn Park was struck just before 7 p.m. on Highway 252, where the six-lane highway crosses 73rd Avenue North at a stoplight. The intersection is located in a residential area just north of Interstate 694.

The State Patrol said Lamu was found dead after he had been struck, possibly by two vehicles. Authorities believe: One a dark sedan and the other a red SUV or minivan. Both suspected vehicles left the scene before police arrived.

Police are asking anyone with information about either vehicle to call 763-279-4559.
