$78 million terminal
The Duluth airport terminal was updated and dedicated in January 2013. Planning and construction of the project took nearly a decade. The new facility replaced a terminal built in 1973.

Travelers driving to Duluth International Airport will stay a little warmer with the opening of an $8 million parking garage and glass-enclosed connecting skyway.

WDIO-TV reports the new structures will open Friday and allow travelers to go to and from the airport without stepping outside. The 4-level garage is the final project in several years of construction at the airport, including a new terminal that opened in January 2013.

Several parking areas are heated and some are indoors. The garage adds 320 parking spaces, with about 220 available to the general public, 40 for corporate parking and about 100 for rental cars.

The top level of the garage is uncovered but connects directly to the $1.6 million skyway.
