One dead in head-on collision with semi

A 24-year-old woman died in a head-on accident with a semi-truck in the Twin Cities western suburbs on Tuesday night.
The accident occurred on Highway 12 just east of Maple Plain at about 9:45 p.m. A statement from the Medina Police Department said a car driven by Jamie Lee Whipperman of Plymouth, Minnesota, crossed the center line and ran into a UPS truck hauling tandem trailers.
The impact caused Whipperman to be ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Medina Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol are investigating.
