Hennepin County sheriff investigating officer-involved shooting

A man is being treated for his injuries after a confrontation Thursday afternoon with police officers at a hotel in the far west metro.

Medina police were responding to a call of a suicidal person at the Ling Inn Motel, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office said. Authorities say the man was holding a knife. Shots were fired. He was transported to a hospital for treatment, and a police officer was treated at the scene.

The sheriff's office continues to investigate.
