Today's Morning Edition music features a track from Ian McLagan's solo album "United States," which came out earlier this year.

The keyboarding legend died unexpectedly Wednesday after a massive stroke. He was 69.

McLagan was best known for playing keyboards with the Small Faces, The Faces and The Rolling Stones. He was scheduled to perform with Nick Lowe and Los Straitjackets last night at First Avenue in Minneapolis. Lowe paid tribute to McLagan during the show.

"To say we're reeling backstage is an understatement, but the show must go on. No one knew that better than Mac," Lowe said.
