Minnesota reports 1st flu death of season

Minnesota has recorded its first pediatric death from the flu this fall.

The Minnesota Department of Health is not releasing any details on the case to protect the child's identity.

Last year, two Minnesota children died from the flu. The Health Department doesn't publish data on flu deaths among adults.

Federal health officials on Thursday warned that the flu season may be a bad one. This year's flu vaccine may not work as well as it usually does, but the CDC said people should still get vaccinated because it will still provide some protection.
