EB I-94, Green Line in St. Paul closing this weekend

Eastbound Interstate 94 in St. Paul will close this weekend for more bridge work.

The closure begins at 10 p.m. Friday.

Crews will be removing and replacing bridge beams on the Highway 52 Lafayette Bridge, just east of downtown St. Paul. The eastbound lanes will be closed between Interstate 35E and Mounds Boulevard.

In preparation for the weekend work, the Minnesota Department of Transportation also closed the ramp from Sixth Street to eastbound I-94 in St. Paul's Lowertown neighborhood at 9 a.m. Friday.

The ramp and eastbound I-94 will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday.

Meanwhile, the Green Line will close Sunday night into early Monday morning in St. Paul.

Metro Transit says trains won't run between Union Depot and the Snelling Avenue station from 6 p.m. Sunday to 3 a.m. Monday. Buses will transport passengers instead.
