Lawmaker's bill encourages on-the-job training for students

Minnesota lawmakers in the House and Senate are working through the first proposals of the legislative session.

Several bills introduced last week seek to improve the state's education system. One that's getting particular attention would give state grants to businesses that offer on-the-job training for students.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with DFLer Terri Bonoff, who chairs the Senate's higher education committee and is sponsoring the legislation.
