Today's Morning Edition music is from Elvis Presley performing "Tweedle Dee" live on the Louisiana Hayride 60 years ago today.
By this time he was a regular on that weekly radio show. What made this performance significant is that it was the first time Colonel Tom Parker saw Elvis live.
Parker was a well-known music promoter at the time. His clients included country music stars Hank Snow and Eddy Arnold. He would soon become Presley's manager and play a huge role in shaping the direction of the singer's career.
