For climber, explorer and adventurer Lonnie Dupre of Grand Marais, the fourth time was the charm.

On Jan. 11, Dupre reached the summit of Mt. McKinley in Alaska. It's the first time anyone has climbed the tallest mountain in North America alone in January.

As a fellow climber told an Alaska newspaper that doing that climb at this time of year is a real "sufferfest."

This was Dupre's fourth attempt at the solo January climb. Since that time, Dupre has had to walk back down the mountain.

Dupre joined The Daily Circuit from Talkeetna, Alaska to talk about his accomplishment.
