The Fargo college student who was found dead in a Moorhead RV sales lot in September did not die of a drug or alcohol overdose, Moorhead police said Monday.

Police have the results of an autopsy of Thomas Bearson, 18, of Sartell, but they released few other details.

But the unresolved homicide does not mean college students are at risk, Police Chief David Ebinger said.

"I don't see any indication that there's an active threat to the public stemming from this incident," Ebinger said.

Moorhead police say the FBI will help create a profile of the person who killed Bearson, a freshman at North Dakota State University. His body was discovered about five miles from a party in Fargo where he was last seen.

Police also released photos of a car seen near where Bearson's body was found. Investigators don't know if the car is important to the investigation.
